Problem Note 44020: Problems occur in SAS® 9.2 when you change internal names during a portal promotion from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2
The SAS® 9.2 Intelligence Platform: Web Application Administration Guide, Fourth Edition states that you must change the internal user names of the SAS Administrator and the SAS Trusted User accounts when you promote a portal from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2.
However, renaming these two causes problems in the SAS® 9.2 system. After the names are changed, none of the servers (including the SAS® Metadata Server) will start.
To correct the problem, create a new user account with a metadata identity and assign that account as SAS Administrator and SAS Trusted User in your SAS 9.2 repository. As an alternative, you can add external login credentials for the SAS Administrator and SAS Trusted User accounts. You can add these credentials from the Accounts tab in the User Manager plug-in for SAS® Management Console. Do not change the internal account details.
